Small Town Rituals: A Celebration of Everyday Life

There’s something beautiful about the routines we return to each day. We might not think of them as meaningful while we’re doing them—walking the dog, moving through a yoga flow, pushing a stroller down the sidewalk—but these simple acts shape the rhythm of our lives. They bring us into connection with our neighborhoods, our bodies, our families, and even strangers passing by.
My latest series, Small Town Rituals, is a visual tribute to these moments. Each painting captures a different slice of daily life, using a playful, stylized approach to show people in motion—walking, stretching, scooting, gliding. The scenes are familiar, almost universal, yet filled with individual personality and gesture.
In Dog Walkers, rows of figures stroll with their canine companions, each pairing telling its own little story. Daily Yoga captures the grounded energy and flow of a shared practice, and in Sidewalk Parade, bikes, scooters, strollers, and skateboards roll forward with joy and determination.
These pieces are meant to feel approachable and warm, a reminder that art doesn’t have to be about grand events or dramatic moments. It can honor the everyday. It can slow us down just enough to notice the meaning tucked inside the ordinary.
Whether you see yourself in one of these figures or are reminded of someone you love, I hope this series offers a moment of recognition—and maybe even a smile.
Prints of each piece in the Small Town Rituals series are now available. Bring a bit of everyday joy into your space.
